URL Expander

Reveal the full redirect chain and final destination of any link.

Expand Shortened URLs

Paste a shortened or suspicious link and this tool follows every redirect server-side to reveal the full chain and the final destination โ€” so you can see where a link really goes before you click it.

What you get

  • The final destination URL
  • Every hop in the redirect chain
  • The status code at each step
  • The total number of redirects

Why expand links?

Short links hide their destination, which is convenient but also used to disguise spam, phishing, and tracking pages. Expanding a link first lets you check it is safe and goes where you expect.

How redirects work

A shortened link responds with an HTTP redirect (a 3xx status and a Location header) pointing to the next URL. Chasing those hops one by one โ€” exactly what this tool does โ€” ends at the real page, which may be several redirects deep through trackers and link wrappers.

Safer than clicking

Because the redirects are followed on our server rather than in your browser, you can preview a link's destination without loading it yourself, visiting tracking pixels, or exposing your IP to the final site.
