WHOIS Lookup

Look up a domain's registrar, dates, nameservers, and status.

Look Up Domain WHOIS Information

Enter a domain and this tool queries public RDAP data โ€” the modern, structured replacement for classic WHOIS โ€” to show who registered it, when, the registrar, nameservers, DNSSEC status, and the domain's current status codes.

What you get

  • Registrar and registration date
  • Expiry and last-updated dates
  • Authoritative nameservers
  • DNSSEC and EPP status codes

RDAP vs. classic WHOIS

RDAP returns clean, standardized JSON over HTTPS, while old WHOIS returned inconsistent free-form text. RDAP is more reliable to read and is the registry-supported way to query domain data today.

Why some fields are blank

Many registrars now redact registrant contact details for privacy under GDPR and similar rules, so personal contact fields are often unavailable. Some country-code TLDs also do not publish all events via RDAP, which can leave a date empty even for a registered domain.

Common uses

WHOIS lookups help you check domain availability and ownership, confirm expiry dates before they lapse, investigate suspicious domains, and research acquisitions โ€” all from public registry data.
